Atlantic Canada is an O&G sleeper.
New Brunswick is sitting on 78,000bcf of natural gas.
This reserve is worth over $1 trillion.
This is enough natural gas to supply all of Europe outright for about 8 years.
The NB gov needs to get their heads out of their asses and develop this resource to make their people wealthy. They're right at tidewater, ice-free, and in prime location to Europe who is paying $12/mmbtu. Capitalize on this while the 10-15yr "transition gas" window remains open.

⠀
Then there's Newfoundland's offshore oil:
Which is worth over $250 billion.
Again, strategically located right next to Irving and Valero Refineries (NB/QC). Both of which are still starved for domestic oil. And also strategically located for European export.

⠀
We've obsessed over Energy East, trying to move oil thousands of miles from AB to NB, when Nfld is sitting on plenty of oil to supply both refineries, locally. It's just common sense. These Atlantic refineries have roughly 800,000bbl/day capacity, yet Newfoundland is only producing 200,000bbl/day. A 600k shortage! Open the fucking taps already! Then you don't need to worry about pipelines and land disputes for oil or gas. And Atlantic Canada will be wealthier than they could ever imagine as a result.

I highly recommend geeking out and checking each one, you will be surprised how many reserves this country has that aren't AB (the squeaky O&G wheel).
