I know from being at ground zero in rural Alberta (Edson, Slave Lake, and Drayton Valley) two years ago, that it's next to impossible to contain these fires. Climate change is real, and we can only protect the larger population centres. If every Canadian citizen with the ability to work, quit their job and tried to "rake the forest," it still would not be enough.
It's like trying to save the Polar Bears. There is no point, as climate change is accelorating, and they are doomed.
