Acajacques I am growing a little bit concerned about how we have hugely grown our population in recent years, in order to address a labour shortage that may not last for very much longer.
I'd tend to agree with what Poilievre has been saying in the news today: we're displacing students with those TFWs (they work harder and complain less). Result, youth unemployment has been skyrocketing.
Even our good friend MolsonExport got his start by flipping burgers at McDonald's; his modern-day counterpart could not do that (and learn great life skills, discipline, etc. from his "Army Drill Sergeant" Greek boss and mentor ...) as his job would instead get taken by a South Asian studying Business Administration at some strip mall college.
It's really worrying, when you look at the long term implications. We'll need some sort of UBI, but how are we collectively going to pay for it? The corporations that'll be owning all the robots and the AI, aren't going to let themselves be overtaxed easily. At least human population is on its way to stabilizing and beginning to decline, that'll help...
